The challenge
VGZ had a clear vision for their new workspace: health, sustainability, and collaborative team zones. They aimed to move away from traditional fixed desks serving as storage spaces, embracing activity-based working in an open and shared environment. The interior needed to be not only functional but also calming and green.
The plan
In collaboration with the design teams from Rever Interior Projects, an interior landscaping plan was developed that prioritises user well-being. Greenery was incorporated in nearly every space—sometimes living plants, sometimes artificial, depending on the natural light conditions. Sustainable materials, such as circular plant containers from Plantinum, were used wherever possible.
The execution
Living plants were placed in cabinet planters and individual pots throughout the building. Artificial plants were installed in areas without natural light, often at elevated positions such as hanging borders or above meeting rooms. This combination creates a natural appearance balanced with the architecture. Additionally, the reuse of 87% of existing furniture underlines the project’s sustainable character.
The result
VGZ’s team reacted enthusiastically from the moment of delivery. Employees describe the atmosphere as “serenity through greenery.” The plants are present everywhere, visibly providing tranquillity, rhythm, and cohesion within the interior.
