The challenge
Office Lab in Het Slotervaart wanted to create an inviting entrance that would make visitors feel welcome from the moment they walked in. Greenery was to play a prominent role, contributing to a warm yet professional look. This wasn’t limited to the lobby – planting on the upper floors also needed to enhance the interior and align with the overall design of the building. Sustainability and the use of circular products were key requirements.
The plan
Working closely with the architect who designed the office area, we explored a colour palette and plant selection that would complement the interior. The choice fell on plants with a strong presence and a variety of heights and leaf shapes. The planting needed to blend perfectly with the furniture and materials, with a strong focus on sustainable solutions.
The execution
In the central lobby, custom-made planters were installed, designed to fit the space perfectly. On the upper floors, the planting was tailored to the architectural lines and the way the spaces are used. In addition to large statement plants, we incorporated compact arrangements and bespoke raised planters. The interior features circular materials, including recycled plastic from Plantinum.
The result
The result is a green interior that enhances the architecture and gives the entrance of Office Lab a welcoming and vibrant feel. The greenery brings a sense of calm, balance and a natural atmosphere, perfectly in keeping with the building’s sustainable character. Both employees and visitors have responded positively: the outcome fully matches the original vision and reinforces the feeling of being welcomed upon arrival.
